A child's first birthday is a huge milestone.... for the parents, the relatives, friends and obviously the child. Picking up the perfect gift for the 1 year old is a tough job. You sure do not want to end up giving something that 10 other guests give. Here are a few options that you can look into before going gift shopping:
Push Toy: Most 1 year olds have either recently learned walking or are still to walk. A push toy is a perfect gift. This helps give them confidence.
Shape sorter: Kids this age love exploring, they will love trying different permutation and combination. This also improves the kid's hand eye coordination.
Musical Instruments: A one year old loves playing music and taking out different kind of noises. Be it drums, xylophone, shakers, etc. If the parents can stand the noise kids make then these gifts are a great choice.
Stacking blocks: Kids around this age love plastic and wooden blocks, this will build their creativity levels.
Toy Phone: The little one will love having having a play one, especially one with music. Now s/he will have a personal phone, just like mommy and dadda. This is great for pretend play and language development.
Books: Kids can not have too many books. You can pick out some books appropriate for a 1 year old and both the kid and parent will love it. Board books are perfect for this age.
Hopping Animal: Zoe got a hopping dino on her 1st birthday and she loves it ever since. This helps develop balance and coordination while providing a fun workout. Make sure you pick up the smaller one appropriate for a year old.
Pull Toys: These will also help your 1 year old become confident walkers. These give kids lots of practice and let them have lots of fun.
Activity Table: These fun and learn tables will keep the kid occupied for sometime. Each side of the table has 3-4 different activities which will also help develop the kid's language skills.
Secure Swing: Swings are easy to use, and these ensure a lot of giggles for a one year old. Make sure you choose a swing which is age appropriate and keeps the child secure.
What do you think is the perfect gift for a year old baby?
