Are Pets Good For Kids?

Have you been contemplating getting you & your little one a pet? Are you wondering if having a one will have a positive or negative influence on the child? Being on the fence & having to make a decision about something can be extremely stressful & we at Momsters know about it. If you are looking at doing a little research then you are at the right place today, Momsters puts down together a few pointers that will help you in making the decision.
  • Kids who have pets tend to become more responsible and disciplined as well as developing self-esteem.
  • Children with pets develop more empathy
  • Researches show that kids with pets eventually become socially competent with their everyone around them.
  •  Pets become a child’s playmate & thus children who have pets keep themselves easily self entertained.

  • Children who have pets at home are likely to have a stronger immune system. Pet-owning kids are able to fight off infections viz. colds, flu, etc. far better than the ones without any.
  • A study of pre-schoolers at Kansas State University shows that pet owner children develop good levels of sensitivity and are better at interpreting non-verbal communication..
  • Researches show having a pet revs up a child’s reading skills. Children who have reading issues develop confidence if made to read in front of a pet.
  • Various studies have shown that having a pet in the family can alleviate stress and unhappiness. Petting a pet animal is believed to have a calming effect. A pet, in short, is the perfect antidote for children.
  • Households with pets are generally healthier as pets encourage children to be outdoors & on their toes.
  • A pet teaches children the value of a living being. If you introduce a pet early in your child’s life, it makes them respect life on the whole, respect for living & breathing beings.
  • Last and most importantly having a pet is a lot of fun & brings immense enjoyment to a household.
So if you’ve been thinking about getting a pet, and are worried about your child’s safety… don’t worry and go ahead and get one.
