It’s a crazy-crazy world & we are all
running against time-running to meet deadlines professionally, personally,
socially, etc. Time is at a premium
and we all feel awful for not being able to spend enough time with our loved
ones.
Here are a few quick
family activities that take less than 3 hours of time, yet are extremely high
up on the fun quotient.
Fun at the Movies
All you need is to get a few rugs or sleeping
bags or sheets, some popcorn & a laptop. The magic multiplies a thousand folds
if you have one of those projectors but a laptop does great too. Play your
favourite movie (This
might help you with some ideas)
Treasure Hunt
Who doesn’t love a
treasure hunt? Kids dig it! You could either organize a trail of clues or
provide a list of items that needs to be found. This can be carried out either
indoors or outdoors. Let your imagination at work & start off. You could
find a few helpful tips here
Water
Balloon Fights
Kids love it when parents have their kind of
fun. Let go of all worries and indulge in some serious fun. Throw water
balloons at each other while dodging them. This one is a sure shot hit with
kids & parents both. Make forts, designate
two team captains, pre-fill loads of water balloons, hide secret stashes of
water-filled balloons around, have cool prizes. You can do this in an open area like a garden or a terrace to avoid the mess.
Get Cooking
Children love making cookies and pizza, because
they can squish the dough with their fingers. Get in the kitchen & put on
those aprons & have some delicious fun together baking or cooking.
Get Crafty
Grab the chalk, let the sidewalk or your drive-way or terrace be your canvas and allow your imagination to run wild. Kids love this no-restriction activity & have double the fun when parents are involved. Here are some cool chalk art ideas:
- Ice Chalk by Reading Confetti
- Exploding Chalk Paint Art by Growing a Jeweled Rose
- Liquid Sidewalk Chalk by Domestic Charm
- Sidewalk Chalk Spray by Wine and Glue
- Story Stones and Sidewalk Scenes by Inner Child Fun
Go ahead &
make most of the little time that you have with your kids-Goof it up.. Remember
quality over quantity.
Great piece of tips. Perfect way to spend weekend with kids. These are the days when you know about the creativity of your kids. This reminds me of a saying 'All study and no play makes jack a dull boy'.
