August Birthday Pick - Little Man Birthday

This month we will cover a DIY Little Man themed Birthday. We didn't go to Pinterest for inspiration, but a guest blogger shared her son's first birthday party.

DIY parties are amazing, especially when you put in so much hard work in doing things up yourself and you end up throwing a hit party. Doing a Little Man party for your boy's 1st birthday is darn cute and very creative. Sanaa A'esha did exactly that - she threw a Little Man Party for Little E's 1st birthday last year. This is a mustache-themed party, which is very different, fun and fresh. What's more, the decor is very easy to make.

Balloons are a part of every birthday, and here is an easy way to decorate the room with balloons. Instead of randomly making a bunch of balloons, stick balloons to the ceiling, hang small felt or cardboard mustaches at the base of the balloons.

For the wall you can make colourful pom-poms, you can get a video tutorial right here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfork_fpbWc. Instead of normal buntings, you can use cut-outs in different shapes. You can decorate the pompom and buntings with Mustache cutouts. The Pom-Poms actually look like a Little Man with mustache.

Serve drinks in plastic glasses, you can draw some funny mustaches on the tip of the glasses. You can also keep some plain glasses with whiteboard markers for guests to draw their own mustaches.

The invites should reflect the theme perfectly, and make sure you mention the dress code that every one needs to sport a mustache. You can take invitation ideas from http://pinterest.com/momstersIndia/little-man-party-invites/.

Make sure the kids don't feel left behind, have a 'Cookie Duster and Milk Mustache counter' for them. Have simple butter cookies along with chocolate ganache in a squeezee bottle. Let the kids have fun making mustache. Have a thick milkshake counter for the kids, so they can drink milk and make mustache... believe me they will love it.

Go shopping and get some mustache shaped moulds, which are easily available in the market. Use these to decorate the cookies/Popsicles you serve.
