Rakshabandhan is just around the corner and we all are naturally very excited about the merriment this beautiful festival brings along. The kids in particular look forward to this time when they can indulge in mouth watering sweets & receive gifts.
Especially keeping in mind this beautiful festival, Momsters brings along it’s very own version of the traditional Indian dessert - Kheer. We all love kheer & with a little change here & there we can make it even more interesting & nutritional for the kids.
Ingredients
- Whole Cream Milk - 1 liter
- Mangos puréed - 2 Ripe
- Rice broken - 100 gms
- Sugar - To taste
- Cardamom powder - A pinch
- Pistachios unsalted sliced - 8-10
- Almonds unsalted sliced - 8-10
- Kewra water - Few drops
- Rose Petals - To Garnish
Directions
- Boil together milk, sugar & rice on low heat till rice done completely & mixture thickens.
- Add mango puree & stir gently on low heat till it blends well.
- Remove from heat.
- Add kewra water, cardamom powder & 3/4th of the almonds & pistachios.
- Allow to cool/refrigerate.
- Garnish with rose petals & remaining almonds & pistachios.
- Serve
