  • 5-6 black pepper
  • 1 clove
  • 1tsp jeera
  •  1 cardamom
  • 1 1/2 cup of water

To make powder (you can also get ragi powder in the market):
  1. Put the dried and cleaned Ragi in a kadai, add very little ghee and saute the grains. Cool and keep aside.
  2. Add 4-5 drops of ghee, black pepper, clove, tsp jeera, cardamom. Saute all these together for 1-2 min in low flame. Cool it.
  3. Make fine powder of ragi and all ingredients above
  4. Seive the powdered mixture using a thin cotton cloth. Take only the fine powder.
  5. Powder is ready to be used.
Preparing Porridge:
  1. Separately mix 1-2tsp of ragi powder in water (pancake batter consistency).
  2. Boil 1 cup of water and add the mixture in step 1 to it. Keep stirring while u add. Let the mixture boil for 3-4 min, keep stirring as the mixture thickens. (consistency is same as that of Cerelac).
  3. Allow it to cool to room temperature, add 2 drops of ghee and feed your child. If your kid likes this, then just add below ingredients to ragi along with blackpeppers, jeera and cardamom. This is similar to stage2. U may add clove if u want to.
