Nothing can match your baby's first year, documenting your precious one's first year is not a cake walk. I was just a blogger before The Toddler, but when I got pregnant I became a mommie blogger (thanks to the Toddler, I discovered the wonderful world of blogging as a parent). I chose to blog and keep a baby journal which I update regularly. Unfortunately many parents leave tracking these wonderful memories when they get too busy taking care of the baby. And those of us who do, mostly just keep a journal. It's all the more tough to get creative, regular and different... when it comes to creating happy 1st year memories.
Those who know me, know that I'm a parenting blogs/website addict, I came across some wonderful ways to keep track of the first year - I wish I had done these for The Toddler.... As these are totally adorable yet easy ways, all you need is 15-20 minutes a day, and some of them don't even require that. Amongst so many amazing ways, I present to you 5 simple, creative and quick ways which will help you cherish your child's 1st year.
Frame The Home Coming Outfit: I'm sure you have preserved the first piece of cloth your baby wore, if not that... you are most likely to have the outfit you brought your child home in... (I still have The Toddler's home coming cloths :-D). Frame them... It might just be the dress/bodysuit... you can also include baby's cap/mitten/blanket/socks... the works. Isn't it the most amazing way to keep those memories crystal clear in your mind. What more, be a little more creative and frame the baby's hospital tag as well. I plan to put it up in the Toddler's room. Your child will thank you for this, and you would be happy to have done this super creative, super quick craft.
One Liner A Day... Many mommie's hate writing and filling the baby journal, especially when you have a new born to take care of. Why not keep a journal in which you can write just one line about the day. The one-line-a-day journal is quick and perfect way to keep a tap of little things your baby does on a daily basis.
Greeting Cards: India is a land of festivals, obviously you can't expect your little one to read the card and get all dew eyed. Chances are they will start biting on to the card as soon as you give it to them. Don't give it to them... just make sure you write messages in the greeting cards and store them for later. Create a little box of memories which you can give them at a later date. Tip: Write a note on what's happening in their life, in each card.
Blog: I love blogging about the Toddler and can't wait for The Toddler to go through some of the posts :-). If you want to keep your blog restricted to a few people do that... It's a fun way to document your thoughts visually and also express your emotions.
Try Monthly Stickers: These are pretty famous in the west, and the trend is picking up in India as well. It's a beautiful way track how your child looks... Create 12 stickers for 12 months, and your baby's name. Click 12 pictures for 12 months and you can use them on the baby's 1st birthday invitation. People will love it, especially your parents.
Hope you like these and try some of them out, do share the post with your friends who are expecting a baby... and also if you have something better in mind... share your ideas with NMW.
