Top 5 Reads for V-Day

Valentines Day, like any other day for me means spending some time, snuggled up with Zoe and reading our favorite books. So we came up with this perfect Valentines Day post idea. Here Momsters suggest some nice books to read with your little one on this special day of love.

Love You Forever by Robert N. Munsch:

This book takes you through a mom's love for her new born, and how it never changes no matter how old the child becomes. Frankly, I do not know how much my 2 year old understands this book except for the fact she loves the song in the book. I'm in love with this one... The illustrations are beautiful, I love the pastel shades that have been used throughout the book. Read this one and you will fall in love with Love You Forever.

I Love You, Stinky Face by Lisa McCourt:

A beautiful tale of a mother tucking her son to bed and the son asking her... "Will you love me if I was ..." And the mother telling him no matter how scary, stinky, snarly, wild or silly he might become, his mom will always love him truly. It is a perfect read with your toddlers or preschoolers, lots of giggles guaranteed.

Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney:

This is a story about a Little Nutbrown Hare as he tries to tell his dad how much he loves him, but Big Nutbrown Hare always ends up showing his little one he loves him back some more. Kids are sure to end up telling you how much they love you. Choose their Pop-Up edition for smaller kids.

Somebody Loves You, Mr. Hatch by Eileen Spinelli:

I haven't read this one to Zoe (she is a little young for this one) but I have bought it and kept it for future :-). I love this one personally. It is about Mr. Hatch, an old lonely man, who hardly speaks to anyone. Till one day his life changed when he received a suprise package on Valentines Day saying "Somebody Loves You". It makes me smile and still I do feel a little sad for Mr. Hatch. This is a perfect read for your children between 4-8 years.

Queen of Hearts by Mary Engelbreit:

Ann Estelle loves doing her new school project of making the best valentine box ever to keep all valentines cards she receives from her friends. She gets so involved in the box that she herself forgets to create Valentine's Day cards for her classmates. Her creative thinking saves the day. This one makes for an entertaining story for your 5-8 year olds.
