Zoe is a huge Barney Fan and her favorite Barney DVD is Barney’sPajama Party DVD. The girl is a little over 2 years, but loves saying Pajama…Pajama Party. She sure doesn’t
know what it means, but Zoe gave me a perfect idea for Momsters March Birthday Theme. This is a perfect theme for children of 6
years and above, generally it is believed this is a girly theme but I’d
beg to differ. Boys will enjoy a Pajama parties or slumber parties as much.
Before we go into the top 10 picks, Momsters would take you
through some points which will help you plan the PERFECT PAJAMA PARTY – PPP…
- You can have the child and friends hang around till late night, and let them sleep over. The breakfast is a part of the party. If you wouldn’t want to opt for a sleepover, you can call over friends and other guests over for a nice breakfast.
- The dress code of the Pajama Party are Pajamas or sleep wear (needless to say) add a touch of fun and colour some multicoloured socks.
- Have the party over a weekend.
- If you have decided to go for a sleepover, make sure you are equipped with lots of board games, age appropriate DVDs, munchies, etc.
- Momsters Tip: If you have a few children come for a sleepover, you can ask your child to get their friend's shoe size and favorite color. When the children come for a sleepover you can give them similar flip flops in different colors.Kids will love flaunting some fun flip-flops.
Momsters did a lot of research and a lot of shortlisting to choose top 10 ideas for you to host a Perfect Pajama Party:
- Invitations are the most important part of any party.
Momsters love the way The Creative Party Place has designed them, it does complete justice to the theme. We also love the burst of colors in the party, be it
in the cute little favour bags, way in which the tables are laid and the decoration.
This sure gets two thumbs up from us.
- PaintChips and Cupcakes has a Princess & the Pea, Pajamas & Pancakes–Birthday Party... Phew that is quite a theme :-). The décor is not over the top, we love the use of pink and green. Their invites are very pretty as well, but what instantly caught our eye was the way the table is decorated. Just love it… don't you?

- A PJ Party means a nice breakfast, and a kiddy breakfast cannot be complete without Pancakes… well mostly. So in a Pancakes & Pajamas Party, you can swap the cake for rainbow pancakes (like Inkberrycards and designs did)… I bet these will be a hit with the kids and adults as well ... they are so colorful and look completely yummy.
- Talking about food, if you are hosting a breakfast party /brunch then your menu needs to be planned accordingly. Love the food spread ThoughtfullySimple had for a Birthday Breakfast. Be it the Mini yogurt parfaits, pancakes, flavored syrups, doughnuts, cookies, cupcakes, cereals… you can go all out. A tip: Since a sleepover Breakfast party is a pretty Western concept which has now become popular in India… you can avoid Indian Breakfast which we have every day.
- You will have kids come over, keeping them busy and happily engaged is your responsibility. ProjectJunior has a wonderful idea… you can have the kids design their Doorknob Hanger… totally goes with the theme and kids will love it.
- These beautiful Customized Pillow Cases featured in i-village can become a lovely party favor. Your guests will love it, and thank you for these. You can also give them fabric markers, where children can write messages on the pillow case. Isn’t it a fun idea?

These can be served as a midnight snack if you’re having a sleepover. You can also make a Roti Roll in the same manner in place of a Tortilla.
- We’ve talked about food, what about drinks for the kids??? SnackPicks has some amazing snack ideas for a Slumber Party. We just loved the milk bottles with straws and cookies. For once, you won't be running after the kids to make them drink milk.
