The perfect Outdoor Play Date

Whether you are a working mum, a work from home mommy or a stay at home mother… keeping your sanity intact and keeping your kids happily engaged is something that all mommies have to think about and work towards. You have so much to do and don’t have much time in hand. Play dates are just the right thing to help you keep the child happy and they also provide you an opportunity to interact with fellow moms.

If you can interact and spend some time with fellow parents, it proves to be extremely helpful. You can exchange tips, strike a nice conversation, interact with people in similar situations, etc. Besides even your child becomes more comfortable playing with other kids his/her age. They get to play with toys that don’t belong to them, make friends, and basically have loads of fun.
Once you have got a few people on board, and decide on a venue and date… keep the playdates in which not only the child enjoys, but you also get a chance to chill. It’s not always necessary to keep the kids confined in the house to enjoy a playdate. Here are some ideas which you can opt for if you want to organize a playdate outside your house.

Parks, zoo, amusement parks, farms, etc. can be a great venue for playdates if you are in the mood of some outdoorsy fun. Make sure the weather is good, when you plan such a playdate. If you have younger kids and are in a mood to get a workout cum playdate, pick a place with a nice path to walk, take out the stroller and you’re ready to go. And if you are someone like me, you can organize story telling under a tree in a park.

If you are really tired and just want to unwind with friends over some nice food and coffee, pick a café which is kid-friendly. If you have a large group you can also book a café.

Many indoor play areas are gaining popularity amongst parents now a days. You can choose to leave the kids at an indoor play area or you can hang in there yourself.

If your group is in the mood of some shopping, you can organize a playdate at a mall. Though I personally do not think it’s a really good idea… but for some people shopping is the best way to relax and unwind. Also, most big malls have a play zone which will keep the kids engaged.

You have older kids who are extremely inquisitive; your gang also loves to explore… pick a museum or a historical monument.

Beat the heat and give those water babies a place to have some splash splash fun. A pool date is an amazing idea for summer months.
