When I was a little girl, my mom
kept small things about my childhood intact in a big folder. Growing up, I used
to love browsing through the book and reading the notes mom had written on the
pages of that folder. It made me go back in time. It was an experience, I could
never forget. It was back then, when I had decided I would keep a journal for
my little one whenever s/he was born. And today I like to keep a note of small
things that Zoe does... through my baby book and blog.
Why does one keep baby books? The reason is pretty simple, children are a precious part of our lives and we want to cherish every moment of their growing up. They grow up on a daily basis and don't we all want to keep a track of the new things they do... before these instances get lost in time?
So I made sure, I keep a track of
everything her first smile, doctor's visit, toys, food, her first word...
everything. I found it easier to blog about everything and maintain an online
journal. I have a horrible hand writing and I don't have the patience to sit
with pen and paper and write down everything. Though Zoe's 1st year baby book
is completely updated, I didn't want it to end right there... like most baby
books do. I wanted to keep a track of her school days, friends, teachers,
arguments, vacations et al. Another reason, why I opted to keep an online
record was that we live pretty far away from our family. Zoe's grandparents and
other relatives always complain that we have taken Zoe away from them. Thanks
to technology, we can have regular online chat sessions. Keeping a journal/baby
book online helps family members keep a track on how the apple of their eye is
growing. You can pick and choose the people who you want to share these precious
memories with.
I came across this absolutely
cool site Little1 earlier this year, and I
fell in love with it. I immediately created a profile on the same, and voila...
everything else was totally easy-peasy. Little1 is India's First Exclusive
Online Baby Book, it is a space where you can have various options and features
which enable parents to record and share their kid's growing up years. You can
preserve pictures, milestones, share it with family... You can also store
details on kid's medical history, put reminders, maintain an online blog…. everything
and anything on just one website.
Maintaining an online journal
doesn't mean you cannot get a hard copy of the same. It is great to have an
online baby book, but can it replace a hard copy in your hands, which you can
touch... feel... and see wherever you want. You can also carry it along with
you where you go, or share the growing up moments with your family/friends over
a cup of coffee. I don't think so… but you should not really worry, as Little1
gives you can option of not only customizing the look and feel of the baby
book... but you can also print the baby book once you have created it online.
Now how cool is that. So do yourself a favour, hop on to Little1 and create beautiful memories... time
flies when it comes to children, don't miss out on those beautiful moments.
I think this will help the mommies to take care of her newborns.
